Special Education Support Service
08th December from 09:45 to 11:00
The Special Education Support Service (SESS) was established by Teacher Education Section, Department of Education and Science, in 2003.
The aim of the service is to enhance the quality of learning and teaching through the provision of professional development and support for personnel working with students with special educational needs in a variety of settings-mainstream primary and post-primary, special schools and special classes. The SESS aims to provide a quality service that is inclusive, promotes collaboration and co-operation and provides for equality of access.
This presentation will outline the work of the SESS with particular reference to professional development and support available to teachers who work with students with autistic spectrum disorders.
