Effective Teaching Procedures across Environments
09th December from 11:15 to 12:45
Historically many educators believed the technique of massed discrete trial practice was the only effective teaching procedure for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Currently many other teaching procedures, along with DTT, have been proved through research to be effective and equally important when providing an effective education to this population.
Procedures discussed will include: discrete trial training, fluency, natural environmental teaching. Many examples will be given for each. In addition, the importance of functionality and appropriateness of each technique will be discussed when considering effective teaching procedures.
