Crowley OSullivan Joan

Joan Crowley O’Sullivan was appointed as Director of the Special Education Support Service on its establishment in 2003, by Teacher Education Section of the Department of Education and Science.

Joan was seconded from Our Lady’s Abbey, Adare, Co. Limerick, where she was a shared-learning support teacher amongst four schools. She delivered on a range of programmes of continuing professional development with the Primary Curriculum Support Programme and was subsequently appointed as Assistant National Co-Ordinator, with specific responsibility for English, Learning Support and for the Regional Curriculum Support Service.

She was appointed as Director of the Special Education Support Service on its establishment in 2003, by Teacher Education Section of the Department of Education and Science. She has had continuous involvement in the design and delivery of professional development and support initiatives for school personnel at regional and national level in relation to the learning and teaching of students with special educational needs.
